I want to do the same in another work book but i am not able to do it i dont know why

let me tell what i did

i copied the whole code (by pressing ALT + F11)

In a new workboook i click developer mode > insert> Button (form control)

and i drag a button here A pop up menu comes

from the drop down i select "Book 1 " and then click new

here in vb i paste the same code in "module"

and the same code in "Sheet1 code"

and save my workbook as xlsm

but it still says cannot run micro micro in book1.xlsm the micro may not be available in this workbook or all micros has been disabled

NOTE i have already enabled micros and saved this file in .XLSM format

please help

Hi,

In the new workbook you nee to "Right Click" the Button. When you do this a popup should appear. You will then select "Assign Macro" you will assign "Custom Filter". This should work.

I also prefer to assign the macro to an autoshape. I stay away from active x controls ie. control buttons until I know that Microsoft has a hold on them. They corrupted several of my programs with their so called updates. So just put in any autoshape and then right click on it and select Assign Macro.
