Hi,

In your final example. The data does not match up with
Quote:
Main Categories are all caps.
*Child Categories have a leading cap followed by lower case, and have a shaded cell background and Grandchild categories have leading cap followed by lower case and no cell background.
I'm looking at "Polycom Branded Services" this line in Polycom file does not have its background set see "*".
Can you re-verify on how to determine what need to be looked at?
I have some code in place that does some of your previous requirement.

Hi,
you are dead right.
But, since for our site all services will be performed by the same entity so for;

Polvcom Branded Services
Installation Services
Premier Services
Partner Branded Services
Transition Ensure Services

I think the Product_Description will be suffice to identify them.
In practice I can use CRON to automatically UL the new .csv monthly but with a start by date created in the HikaShop ECommerce module, so I will need to go through the Uploaded .csv to manually edit Categories and Products before the publish date is reached.
I cant see any way around this since as you so rightly pointed out, the original Excel sheet provides no way to fully parse.

Hi,

Where does the Excel come from? Would it be possible to reformat it?
Have the "Parent" id in column A.
Have Child1 in column B with background filled. And also in column B Child2
with no background filled.

hi,

I guess you mean have the originator re-format it?
the answer would be no, this (Polycom) is a very large international corporation with hundreds (if not thousands) of re-sellers worldwide. I am just one of many.

However, if we can come with an automated solution to take any spreadsheet price list and get it ready for HikaShop, there would be many Joomla/HikaShop clients that would happily pay to have the same magic worked for their product lists..

In this regard, you and I could work on a campaign to commercialize the service...

Hi,

I think I may have a solution. But need to know about the "Parent".
In the cvs file you sent it does not show "REALPRESENCE ROOM" it has
"HDX Executive Collection Stand Systems".
Do you want it to start as you indicated in the cvs file?

So you need ColumnA for the Main Catagory. Column B for the Sub Catagory and column C thru F for "product_description price_value product_code images"?

Hi Charles,

My mistake i do believe, I think i sent you a wrong sheet. Just looking for the correct version according to the latest from HikaShop.
I am a bit overwhelmed with work right now - but certainly have time to wish you and your loved ones a safe and happy 4th July

Hi,

I have code worked out. But for some reason after it starts Excel will time out.
I'll work that out.
I will need the code to add a "Workbook" and then save it as a "CVS" file.
I need to know from you how to name the new CVS file.
The Name needs to be change each time you run the code.
Other wise it will over write.

Default Naming files

Hi,
Perhaps the best way to name the files is to version them by a prefix date/time? I use the following convention since it sorts nicely into ascending or descending order;
2014070109:00
Year, Month, Day, Time (24 hours clock) followed by the name; Polycom_HikaShop.

My apologies for my tardiness, but my business partner is in town - we are setting up our large-scale Enterprise Software company for the ASEAN region as accredited IBM Business Partners for the new ASEAN economic zone which come into force next year - exciting times ahead.

Hi,

Will the data in the "Table of Contents" sheet always be in the "RRP" worksheet?

Hi,

Disregard my last question.
I now have the code worked out to look at the "Main" sheet only.
All I need to do now is have it create the CVS workbook.
May have it ready to test tomorrow.
