Way to lock a workbook but still allow moving datapoints on a chart?
Hello,
I am trying to write a macro to make my excel workbook read-only. This would be fairly easy, except that I still want users to be able to move and delete datapoints on a series on a chart, and I want users to still be able to run macros. I don't want data changed or the chart edited in other ways such as resizing or renaming the axises. Optimumly, I could also make it non-read-only by running another macro. How could I make a read-only exception for data labels? Thanks! -Dave |

Hi Dave,
I doubt that you can. What you could do is implement code that ensures the attributes you want to enforce are re-applied whenever the chart and/or worksheet is either updated, printed, opened or saved.
