Default When I drag and drop an image, I want it to be copied and pasted as an inexhaustible source.

I have an Excel file with a great functionality I want to use in Word.

There is an image in a word file, could be an icon ✅.

I want to be able to drag that image to new places without taking it away from the first location. I want the image to be a source that always is copied by cklick-drag-drop.

How?

Check the attached file or video to better understand what I want: https://youtu.be/6i4oubTpgAU

Thanks

Images in Word can be floating (text wrap turned on) or inline.

If the image is floating then you can hold down Ctrl key and when you drag, you will get a duplicate. Add the Shift key while dragging and the duplicate will stay aligned with the original.

If the image is inline then the Ctrl key will also work as long as you drag the duplicate to another paragraph.

You can also drag with the right mouse button and when you let go, a dialog appears that asks if you want to duplicate the image or move it.

Thank you Andrew. I know the function. But I want it to be atomaticaly. Meaning the user should not have to ctrl-click to get the function. Please see the file in Excel to get an understanding of what I am looking for .

Thanks

That example is 60 copies of the same shape sitting in the same place. So every time you drag a shape into a new location you are moving the shape that is sitting on top until you run out of shapes.

You can do the same thing in Word if you want to pretend that you are getting 'new' shapes with a simple drag. Eventually you will run out of shapes and be left with a new perspective.
