lines with inserted picture
Just started using MS10. Want to insert a pictures from my files into word with text under it. But am getting lines around the pictures. Sometimes one line sometimes two or three lines. I thought maybe it was overlap from another picture but can't find a way to move the image left or right a little bit to eliminate the line or lines. Thanks for any help. |

Lines
This may have to do with he way you are formatting the image. Right click on the image and select Format picture. On the Layout tab, see what's selected. You should be able to move the image around once you select "around" rather than "in line". Does this solve your problem?

I right click on image, format picture box opens & Picture Corrections is highlighted. Looking in Layout Tab I don't see "in line" or "around". This sounds like my problem. I can insert images but no control of position except horizontal.

Formatting
Probably my mistake: you need to find Text Wrapping in the Picture Tools tab on the ribbon and select something other than In-line from there. Start with Square and see how that works for you.
Does that do it? |

That did it. Is there any way to make square the default instead of having to switch to square from line each time?

Default
Go to Word Options/Advanced. Under Cut and Paste, you'll see an option drop-down for how you want paste to insert.
