Default Marks splitting each page in document.

Hello, I have several hundred pages of pictures in a word doc (some with a line or two of text under the picture). Each page has 2 pictures (one under the other). When the pictures are added they are different sizes and upon entry they are sized to cover about one half of the page (top to bottom). There are 15 sections in this document. Pictures are continuously being added to each section and often in the middle of a section. I would like to have some type of marker splitting each page (top to bottom) so I can size the picture to one half of the page easier when adding. I was thinking maybe one “_” on the right and left margin of each page (and each page added) would work and maybe this could be done as some type of title. The only way I’m finding to do this is in the header or footer but I don’t think that will work for me because these “_” will be about half way between the top and bottom of each page. Any ideas? Thanks

Perhaps you should check out the Automate the Insertion of Multiple Images into a Document 'Sticky' thread at the top of this page: https://www.msofficeforums.com/drawi...ument-all.html.

The macro there can be used to automatically size however many pictures you want to insert at a time.

Hello Macropod, Thanks for the response. I played with this for a while here and it seems someone has done a good job with this and it would make the process very automated but I think I would rather size each picture individually and have the option to have captions or not on each picture and adjust accordingly. If I can get the hash marks on each page like I spoke of originally, I think that’s all I really need.

There are two sets of code on that page - one lot for inserting images with captions, the other for inserting them without captions. Since Word automatically scales images to fit within the page boundaries, only a minor edit would be required to stop the macro up-scaling undersized images (which Word doesn't automatically do). Regardless, you can re-size the images manually after they've been inserted if you don't like the assigned sizes.

You could put a small, straight, line into the left margin of the page header, then format its vertical position as centered on the page or between the top/bottom margins.

Thank for the help. I need to spend more time to tweak these solutions to fit my application. For now I just put a "---------------" watermark across the page. I found out that I could change the position to split the page with my header size. It works well because the watermark runs past the margins so I can see the line even if my picture is covering that line.
