Default Picture to Text

Is there a way to convert text that is in picture format to WP text? I received a long document in PDF, all of which was picture format (?). No problem copying to Word (2003), but still in picture format. I would like to insert commentary text as well as cut and paste, but impossible in picture format. Thank you

Since you have Office 2003, you probably have Microsoft Office Document Imaging. This product is capable of optical character recognition.

Adobe Acrobat Professional also has an OCR (optical character recognition). Not sure about the free version. It's in the Document drop down menu from the top menu. It will convert your PDF image to text. Then you can copy the text and paste it into Word.
