Default How can I remove all text from a document, leaving only the images?

As the title says, I have a large collection of documents containing text, tables, bulleted lists and figures. The figures have the layout "top and bottom" or "square" and have a caption that's grouped to each figure.

I would like to delete all the text in the document, leaving only the figures (with accompanying captions). How can I do that in an automated way?

Ideally I'd like the figures to end up on different pages (not all on top of each other).

I wouldn't mind using macros if necessary.

You should be able to delete all text with a wildcard Find/Replace, where:
Find = [!\/]{1,}
Replace = ^12

Any tables will remain, but will have no text. Provided your images aren't anchored to the same locations, they'll be placed on separate pages.

Default First attempt

Hi Paul,

When I tried the find and replace with default options it made 0 replacements and the document remained unchanged.

When I tried again with wildcard search turned on it resulted in an error - "the find what text contains a pattern match expression which is not valid"

Could you explain how the pattern works so that maybe I could tailor it to my document?

Regards,
Luke

Evidently, then, you're using a system with non-English regional settings. In that case, use:
Find = [!\/]{1;}

Default hmm

Still not valid, but it's not so critical. I found a workaround - I use 7-zip to uncompress the document's .docx file and go to word\media and extract all the images. Then I go to PowerPoint and go to insert -> photo album and choose the extracted images, and the result is all the images with one per powerpoint slide (which is just fine for the instructor's needs as they don't mind whether it's in word or powerpoint).
