sizing text in a shape
I need to make some black rectangles with white (actually clear) numbers centered inside the rectangles. I am able to do this, but I need the text to extend almost to the ends of the black rectangle, and when I try sizing the graphic, the white text is cropped by the black rectangle. I'm only a casual user of Word, so I'm probably just not doing something correctly. Any suggestions? Thanx.

Word makes a very rudimentary graphics editor. You would be far better creating the rectangles and their number contents in a graphics editor and insert the combined entity.
