Default Creating an ESL exercise worksheet with graphics

I teach ESL and found some good exercises online for students. I was able to download and print those worksheets, but I didn't like the layout so much as there was a bit too much clutter on the form. I want to try make my own worksheets, but reduce the clutter and adapt it more for my own specific needs. I've uploaded a sheet here and hopefully someone can advise me on how to create something similar myself. I've been using Word for ages (currently using 2016 version), but am not that adept at the graphics side of the software.... hoping to improve.

I doubt that someone can realistically advise on such a subject in a forum such as this. Based upon you self-described experience with Word, the trial and error method (i.e., copy, paste, edit, move, group, et al) would probably be your best avenue to tackle. I was motivated to do the same long ago and it is not too hard to resolve...if you are dedicated to achieve. Just my thoughts...

Depending on what you're trying to achieve, you might just: overlay areas you think add too much clutter with borderless shapes; and/or crop the unwanted areas then rescale what's left.

Thanks.... I'll just go with the trial and error method to see what works then.
