My company recently switched to Windows 10 and Word 16. I use SnagIt as my graphics program. Since the switch, when I Insert > Pictures, Word takes me back to the beginning of the document automatically. This just started after the change. Any ideas why this is happening and how to stop it?

Thanks.

This isn’t a direct answer to your issue, but if you were open Word, click File > Options > Advanced > Cut, copy, paste section > Insert/paste pictures as: > Try Through > OK as a comparison when inserting to what it is set as now.
This effectively changes the way future inserts are treated within the document(s).

I have tried images captured with Snagit and there doesn't seem to be an issue with them when used with Word.

Well, darn. It didn't work. I was hoping it was something that simple, but no. One situation where it happens is when I insert a graphic, then go to the Home tab and click on that little arrow in the bottom right corner of the Font section. I choose Advanced > Position > Lowered > By > 4. I do this to get the text and the graphic to line up. When I click the OK button at the bottom of the pop-up, I'm taken to the top of the document.

Have you tried Word in Safe Mode for a comparison?
To do this, with all Offices applications closed, press the Ctrl key while stating Word by your usual method.

In the opening dialog box - click Yes

Click File and create a new document or open and existing and try the inserting of images again to see what happens.
