How to save a picture in Word with text inserted?
Hello all,
I am using a registered version of MS Word 2016 (Entire Office suite) on a Windows 10 PC. Whenever I import a picture such as a jpg into Word and then add texts or shapes such as arrows into the picture and then try to save the picture, all it saves is the original picture without the text or other inserts. I've tried everything. How can I save the jpg as I've modified it? Thank you for the help. |

Gene,
If I was faced with that issue, I would use the Windows Snipping Tool. You snip the picture, then right click the snipped image, and Save As and you will have a jpg file with the words in the picture. Best, Mike |

Agreeing with Mike.
To add more information, in Word you are not editing the picture when you add text or arrows; you are adding things to the document, not the picture. I use SnagIt by TechSmith. It does edit pictures. |

Thanks Mike and Charles.
The Snipit tool doesn't do what I need to do. I tried different ways of using it and I never get what I want. I also took a look at Snagit, but for now I'm holding off because I found something free on Windows that does exactly what I need. It's Paint 3D. I can add shapes, typing, 3D and all sorts of stuff. It doesn't save the additions on JPG format, so I simply convert the picture to PNG and everything is there. If I need a JPG, I simply convert the JPG. After all this, the picture with the typing can be imported to Word intact! If you haven't tried Paint 3D, give it a shot. You will be amazed. Thanks again for your suggestions. |

Guys, here's another one:
Try Faststone Image Viewer. It's free and it does everything. Once you've added shapes or typing, simply save it as a PNG file and you have everything! |

Try rename file into .zip, then go to name_file\word\media and copy all images.

That has no hope of achieving the OP's aim, since the image and the various autoshapes will remain as independent objects.
