Arrow How to link images by default when dragging images in word

Hi all,

I like the option in word to choose from embedding or linking and the hybrid version where you both embed and link an image. However the way to link an image is very un user friendly. You have to click Insert, then click pictures, select the right image and then you should not forget to change the default button from "insert" to "link".

If I drag an image from windows explorer it gets automatically embedded. Does anyone know how to make this proces a bit more efficient?

- Preferably I'd like to automatically link to an image when I drag in an image.
- Alternatively, If I could just set the default button in the insert picture menu to "link" that would also be already helpful.

Regards Max

There is no setting to achieve what you want. A keyboard-shortcut-driven macro could be made to insert selected images with links, however.

Thanks for your response. Would have been very easy if such an option excisted.

Would I be able to insert 100 pictues at once with that shortcut/macro then?
And do you know of any example code how I should achieve that?

See, for example: https://www.msofficeforums.com/word-...html#post47919
As coded, the macro there inserts the pics without links. Linking them is as simple as changing:
LinkToFile:=False
to:
LinkToFile:=True
