Default Adding shading to a hand drawn diagram to Word 2013

Hi,

This is driving me nutty.
I need to add shading to the oval like area in the middle of this image.

No clue where to to begin to do this. I'd do it by hand but my it's best done this way as my Epilepsy has ruined my hand movements!

Thank you,

Your image looks like it's just a scan. Word can't apply fills to such images - you need to use a graphics app for that.

Thank you,

You are right. I sorted that now! Another question. Can word apply text to images? Just like a text box but on the image itself? It would be good if it can be transparent too.

I forgot to draw something in! It needs to sit on the image on one of the curves.

Thanks so much for your help!

You could overlay the picture with a WordArt object. These default to a transparent background and, if you choose the right one and position & size it carefully, you can probably get a reasonable approximation of the arc required.
