Angry Image shadow in Word - Please help!!

Hi there!

New user here. I recently managed to make an image in MS Word with a shadow around the "inside" i.e. the "Content" of the image. I really like it, but have no way of recreating it. I have tried all "Format" options, but cannot get it right! No matter what I do, the effects are only applied to the "box", and not to the contents. HOW DO I DO THIS?

I would really appreciate help on this issue. In the attached image, you can see that the bottom image has a shadow around the dog and the words. This is exactly how O want it. The top image keeps applying the effects to the "box". On the right of the image you can see the settings. Could this be an anomaly in Word?

Please help!

Mike

Your first image has a white fill with a 3-D format top bevel applied.

Your second image has a transparent background and a drop shadow applied.

Start by applying a solid white fill to the second image. Then add the bevel.

Dear Guessed!

Thanks for your reply. I'm afraid I was not clear. The bottom image is the one I want. I do not want the shadow around the "block", but around the "content" of the block, i.e. the dog and the text. I hope you can help with that!

Mike

OK, you need to make the white parts of the top image transparent. Not all graphic file formats support transparency and you won't be able to do it with Word unless it was transparent before you put it into the document.

So you need to open that image in a bitmap editor like photoshop or Paint.Net. In those tools you can delete the white portions and export the image as a PNG with transparency. Then you import that PNG into Word and apply a drop shadow effect.

The second image, if created in Word. has text effects applied to text.
This could be the image of the dog and the text inside a Shape or Text Box.
