office 2010 update
MS update is recommending that I add a couple of updates for MS Office 2010. The only problem is that I only have MS Office 2007 Basic installed on our workstations. May sound dumb, but do I to install MS Office 2010 updates if its not installed on our workstations? Why would Windows Update suggest that I install this update?

Me too - this is not the answer
I have 2003 on one machine, and am getting offered security updates for 2007. Some moderately extensive searching of M-s**t help, Knowledge Base, &c. has thrown up nothing helpful *.
Obviously I want to know, will these security updates do any good for older, unsupported versions of Office (I also have 2007 and 2010, which last is at least currently supported, on various machines), or will they simply collect useless dust on my hard disk disk - or at worst will they screw something up ? Grateful for any advice, Andrew *e.g.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830335 and similar for other updates http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/he...103306332.aspx (The link on this page for organizations takes one to a page which deals only with XP, not with Office) |
