Try it!
Changing margins adds section breaks, adding much complexity to your document. Indents are paragraph-level formatting while margins are section-level formatting.

In the screenshot below, the blue arrows indicate the margins. The red arrows, the indents. Indents can be inside margins or outside them.
This can be set in a style and easily applied consistently.
