I was able to find the controls for the border but it still appears in the document, though not in the page preview. I also unclicked the boxes for keeping the text together (it's a one-page biblio), so at least it's breaking across the pages.
What's odd is that the pop-up for updating the citations and biblio is still visible. (That's the pop-up tab where I can click on the dropdown to convert the entries to static text.) I want the text to be text and nothing more.
Here's something else: When I click on the dropdown in the Update Citations tab, I get a 2-page biblio instead of a 1-page. I happen to know that the writer split up this document into two separate articles, and I suspect that the two documents are still linked somehow.
Rather than continue to frustrate myself, I've pasted the text into Notepad, deleted the entire biblio box in the document, and repasted the text.
