Default Custom install Sys 7 = Outlook 2007 Problems

Upgraded XP to Sys 7 Professional 32 bit on 32 bit machine. Now two outlook problems (not on an exchange server; running MSN Hotmail via outlook connector): 1) half (only half) the time clicking on my hotmail address icon won't expand to email files but get message that it can't be accessed b/c a related ".ost" file has been configured for a different mailbox and 2) although my contacts are still there they don't show up as an address book that I can use in sending emails. Further, if I click on "properties" for the contact list, I can't choose to save as an email file (choice is greyed out). Have run "Office Diagnostics" but no problems uncovered.

Please Help! School starts tomorrow and I hate to install Office 10 b/c all my students are on 2007 with Vista and University doesn't yet support new versions.

Thanks
