Have you checked whether the addins have an installer listed in the Windows Control Panel, under Programs > Programs & Features? If there is, try uninstalling it.
Simply deleting application files is a bad idea. Software generally needs to be uninstalled if it's no longer needed. Regardless, if you navigate to the application template folders, you may find the templates the deleted addins used. Deleting those templates may get you back on track.
For Word you could look in either of:
PHP Code:
C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\
C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP\
(just paste the above into Windows Explorer's Address Bar)
Template filenames end in .dot, .dotx or .dotm. Word's default template is named Normal.dotm
