Default How to insert cell links from one worksheet in another by drag down

I have a central worksheet (let’s call it A) into which I enter values. In order to make life easier I would like to copy these values into another worksheet (i.e., B). Therefore, I typed ‘=’ into a cell in Worksheet B to start a function and then clicked on the relevant cell in Worksheet A. So far so good. However, what doesn’t seem to work in this case is the normal procedure to then click and drag the target cell in Worksheet B downwards. Or I should rather say it just copies cell A1 down to all the cells I have dragged it over, rather than, as usually (using Ctrl.), update the cell reference. With that I mean, if the source cell is BlaBlaBla A1 the next cell is then also BlaBlaBla A1 instead of … A2, … A3 etc.

If that is the only way, it will mean that I have to enter the relevant values individually into every target cell. In view of there being over 1200 cells it would be tedious work, indeed. Does anyone know of a way to do this in one fell swoop?

By the way, I have also tried Ctrl. + Alt. but that did not work either.

Many thanks

Rudi
