I have an odd problem - which contains a two part question.
Note: I have reworded the original post due to further tests.. here is my REAL question:
First problem: I want to make my .doc links inside of a webpage to open up inside of the browser window. I have created a test page, and if I view this page offline (opening up the .htm via file manager), then when I click on the .doc link, it opens up the word doc inside of the (IE7) browser window. However, if I upload this webpage file to the server and view the page online, then when I click on the .doc link, it makes the Word Application open up the doc. (I have VISTA if that makes a differenct).
Is this normal? I know that you can control some of that by your browser settings (albeit not very easy with Vista).. but does it make a difference if you are viewing the page locally or online? Is there any way I can force the .doc to open up in the browser window for
anyone viewing the page online??

Second problem: This may be fixed once I can figure out how to correct the above problem.. but if the online viewer of the webpage has a MAC, when they click on the .doc link, it requires a download to a special area, then you have to open it up from there (or something like that). Is that normal?? Can someone with a MAC tell me what I need to do to get it to open up inside of the browser window??
Thanks for any help you can provide (pulling my hair out about now!!!)
