Default Unwanted dual account in Outlook 2010

Having recently bought a new PC (OS Windows 10) I installed Outlook 2010. I imported my contacts, calendar, saved emails and recent inbox from a pst file. What I now have, when I open Outlook is a duplicated file tree, one with my email address as the root and the other with "Outlook Data File" as the root. The email address system calls deleted files "Trash", the Outlook data file system calls them "Deleted Items". If I save a draft it automatically goes into the Outlook data file system. I can send and receive emails and they arrive in folders rooted on my email address.

What I would like is to have only the file system rooted on my email address and for the file system rooted on the Outlook data file to go away: it can not, however, be deleted.

If anyone with the relevant knowledge is prepared to help me, I would be extremely grateful.

Cheers
