Default
^& is a standard Replace expression that tells Word to include the found text in the replacement. It's what gets inserted if your have the insertion point in the Replace box then click More>Special>Find What Text.

PS: ^ has nothing to do with "what's above" - it's an escape code that can also occur in Find expressions.
