Basically, to identify the errant addin, you'd start by disabling all non-MS addins, then re-enabling them one at a time until you find that one that prevents you saving as PDF.

Sure, you can use Safe mode whenever you want, but fixing the problem rather than wresting with the symptoms would be more satisfactory.
