This is NOT the same thing as the original poster. That person was trying to create a custom template (not the normal template) with headers and footers.

Trust me. You do not want headers or footers in the normal template. At a minimum, you will be unable to use the labels and envelopes functions if you do this.

See the examples on my downloads page of methods of having headers and footers in a template. In particular, look at the Letterhead AddIn(s) - Default New Document and the Easy New Document Template Package.
