macropod, thank you. Tried to follow this but could not find how to set page on printer. But, I first found this a couple of years ago and wondered if 2016 anything might have changed. I googled this and found this article form HP:http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c03890386

I changed the paper size to A4 Borderless and set the scale to 90% and hey presto it works. It threw out the settings of other elements in the document but they were easy to rectify.

While your answer did not solve the problem directly, it did lead me down the path that solved it - so thank you very much and where were you two years ago??!!
