Check that the paper size in the printer matches the page size of the Word document. Even then, however, most printers have non-printing areas around the paper edges for paper handling; the HP may have larger ones at the bottom of the page than the Canon does. It's a bit rich of HP to blame Word when the document prints OK on the Canon...
