Default Can a video pause 'postpone' automatic slide transition?

What I have:
- A PPT2010 slide containing a video file; automatic slide transition after 00:00 seconds.
(cannot share the pptx file because of copyright issues of the video)

What I want:
- To be able to pause the video using the media controls and still have the automatic slide transition working at the end of the video.

What happens:
- When I pause, the slide transition happens anyway, after the normal length of the video, as if I wouldn't have paused.

What I have tried but does not solve the issue:
- Instead of using the media controls, adding an animation to pause the video On Click.
- Inserting a shape (out of sight) that appears 'After Previous', i.e. after the video has finished.
- Inserting a shape (out of sight) that appears 'On bookmark'; the bookmark is at the end of the video.
- Linking to the video instead of embedding it.
- Using PPT2013 instead of PPT2010.

What I would like to know:
- Can this be solved, or is it just not possible?
- Can a slide transition be triggered by a video bookmark?

Thank you!
Judith.
