Yes, you
can do it via Insert > Field, but that's terribly inefficient compared to simply pressing Cmd-F9 (or Cmd-fn-F9) three times to create them. You also wouldn't want to be using Insert > Field for the complex field coding examples depicted in my
Mailmerge Tips & Tricks thread (
