Hi all,

Newbe here and this is my first question.

After creating, some while ago in win XP, a few spreadsheets and saving them as xls files in win XP and office pre 2003.

I am now using Office 2013 and when I try to load my xls files they have all been converted to what looks like text files.

I have upgraded my windows from XP to Vista then 7 32bit and then finally to win7 64bit I don't know if this is significant but this is the only thing I can remember changing.

Has anyone any ideas that I can convert them back to their original state or upgrade to xlsx.
