OK. Found it (with the help of a colleague).
Cut all the paragraph that was aligning "in mirror" and pasted it in notepad, then in the word document kept deleting all characters/empty lines until the next paragraph is reached. Then, copy from notepad your previously pasted paragraph and in word, right click where you want to insert the paragraph, go paste special and there use the option with "unformatted text".
