Hi - here's my problem and I am struggling to describe it let alone solve it

I have a table in a word document which I am typing information into. When I get to the bottom of the page, the table continues onto the next page, but instead of allowing me to type new text into it, the table fills itsef with text from the top of the table. Sometimes this happens the first time I spill over onto the next page, and other times it will allow me to continue onto a second page before starting to misbehave on the third.

I can't delete this duplicated text as it deletes the original at the same time.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this and what I can do about it?
