Apologies to be re-opening this thread after such a long time but I do have a similar but not the same issue. My company is currently using software (made by Rivet) that creates a link between Excel and Word. However, when we insert the linked tables in word, they are created as Word Tables versus pictures (what happens when you paste special). What this means is that we can run a redline from the prior document and if any numbers have changed in the table, only those changes will be redlined. This is as opposed to a linked table in word which will simply identify that a change was made to the table, delete the picture of the table, and then add the new one.

Does anybody know if this is possible in Word to do the same thing or any other software options like this?

Thanks!
