Default Problem when iserting objects into protected document

Hi,

I am using Word to create some language exams for a client. The document consists mainly of text (the instructions and questions) and legacy tools (check boxes, drop down lists and text form fields) for the students to put their answers. The document needs to be protected to prevent editing, and to ensure the form fields function correctly.

One of the exams is a listening exam, and I want to insert parts of the audio in certain parts of the test, to be displayed as an icon. I succeeded this by inserting an object, and chose the relevant audio file. This worked fine, as after double clicking the icon, Windows media player would open and play the correct file.

However, my problem is that this does not happen after the document has been protected (to just filling in forms). I need a way to both protect the document, but also allow opening of the object.

Is there a way to insert the object into a form field, so it is not protected with the document, or is there a way to change the protection settings to allow access to the object file?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Josh
