Since you see this on print, something may have happened to the cross-reference fields, or, to be more specific, something may have happend to the hidden bookmarks that Word makes use of when creating cross-references.

If the option to update fields on printing is selected at File tab | Options | Display, then deselect that option.

See what happens if you manually update a cross-reference by selecting it and pressing F9.

Also, are you allowed to share the document?
