Default Add text from file to new file

Hi there, I create new documents but want to insert a link of some sort that brings text from another file into this new document. the text is a standard paragraph that changes from time to time so all the documents it has been linked to needs to update automatically too. I don't know what the name of this function is so word help files are totally useless (like most of the time).
This new link should not automatically relate to all new documents I create, that would be annoying.
Anyone can help pls?
