Default Problem with position of integration limits in equation editor

I’m having problems with the equation editor in word. I want to create a division that includes two integration symbols, but when I create them the limits automatically end up in a subscript and superscript position instead of above and below which looks awful.

I found that the there is a setting in the equation tool options called “place integral limits above and below”, which I have enabled. This makes word correctly place the limits above and below the integration sign if I only write an equation on one row. As soon as I try to create two integrations in a division the limits position themselves as superscript/subscript even though they are set to not do this.

How do I fix this frustrating problem?
