Hi guys

I'm after a little help in relation to changing numbering on a word document.

The document is a operating procedure that someone else has created and needs editing. The numbers relate to how a sequence of things should be done.

For example:

14.1.(a) push start button
14.1 (b) push red button, and so on.

I'm currently trying to remove the letter form the number sequence and replace it with a number. For example,

14.1.1 push start button
14.1.2 push red button...

So far I have I have been unable to change this successfully.

I have tried to highlight the area and change it via multi list but it just deletes all numbering through out the document.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!
