Default Repairing OST with SCANPST

Hello,

I have a user who twice in the last 7 days has recieved an error and then not been able to send emails. I have yet to see the error meassage but the one that comes up after he tries to reply to an email asks for the OST to be repaired using SCANPST.EXE. The users mailbox is 10gb's which I know is huge but he is one of the top, top people and needs to keep all his emails. He has a laptop which is 6 months old, it's a DELL INSPIRION, so it's not great but it should do the job. Each time to fix the problem I am having to redo his Outlook profile. At present the user has been good but I think if this happens for a 3rd time the brown stuff might hit the fan. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what might be causing this and what I can do to minimise it happening again for a 3rd time?

All answers would be appreciated.
