I have a Word file that's linked to Excel. Every link is set to Manual. However, when I open the Word file without opening the Excel file first, Word opens/closes the Excel file multiple times. This causes significant delays as it takes several minutes to open a Word file. I never had this problem with Office 2007 or 2010. It only started with Windows 7 and Office 2013.
