Default Unable to Create EMail Account

I am getting error when creating a new email account on Outlook. I discovered this problem after installing Microsoft Outlook Hotmail Connector and after removing an email account.

When trying to create an Account for a Google email address I get these messages:
>>> Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP): The connection to the server failed.
>>> Send test e-mail message: Cannot send the message. Verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. x6sm879414wjf.24 - gsmtp

When trying to create with a BT email address, I get this message:
>>> Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP): The connection to the server failed.
>>> Send test e-mail message: Cannot send the message. Verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 530 authentication required - Your email could not be sent. To fix this you must make a simple change to your email client (known as SMTP authentication)

Both messages make indicate Outlook cannot connect to the Mail Server while creating the account. It is possible the fault may in the Control Panel Mail Profiles or Registry.

I am 100% sure email addresses, passwords etc are all correct.
Things I have tried which have not worked are:

· Reinstalling Outlook. The reinstallation does not remove previous accounts.
· Uninstalling Microsoft Hotmail Connector
· Creating a new Mail Profile

Any ideas anyone?
