I tried your suggestion and can't quit figure out how to get it to work. All I want to do is select specific content and restrict editing of that content to a small group of users.

- Take a sample document with no form fields (can have content controls).
- Click on the Restrict Editing button on the Developer Tab.
- Check Editing Restrictions - No Changes
- Select a portion you want others to be able to edit.
- Click on the Everyone box.
- Repeat 4-5 as needed.
- Under 3 in the restrictions pane, Start Enforcing restrictions
- OK out of the password box (when doing for real, set and remember password).
