John,
I'm glad to see that I might have been on the right track. I was puzzled about this because when I looked at the XML file created with my customized color set, it showed as only 1 KB. I thought that might have been too small and was some sort of shortcut. I opened it though, and saw a lot of code... so maybe not! I'll give this a try and report back next week.
