I created a list style for my different headings in my document. The outline of my document looks like this when I use my heading styles:
1 Heading 1 Style
1.1 Heading 2 Style
1.2 Heading 2 Style
1.2.1 Heading 3
1.3 Heading 2 Style
The problem comes in when I try to create numbered lists that start at 1 when there is more than one of the same heading style. Here is an example of what happens:
1 Heading 1 Style
1.1 Heading 2 Style
1. H2 1.1 List item #1
2. H2 1.1 List item #2
3. H2 1.1 List item #3
1.2 Heading 2 Style
4. H2 1.2 List item #1
5. H2 1.2 List item #2
6. H2 1.2 List item #3
1.2.1 Heading 3 Style
1.3 Heading 2 Style
Notice that the list between item 1.1 and 1.3 doesn't restart, but continues.
If I select "Restart at 1" from the right-click menu, it restarts to 1, but Word thinks the first item in the second list still belongs to the first list (Note: When you click on the numbering it highlights the numbers that belong to the same list in gray. In this case, Word think 5 numbers belongs to a list, and the first item belongs to another list.
I would like to have brand new lists that restart at 1 under each new heading that I create.
I tried creating a different list style just for my numbering, but the same thing happens.
Thanks for any support you can provide.
