The method you posted is a really brilliant one. With this method, I can keep a nice structure of word file + a pic folder at the same folder level.

just 2 more questions:
in word 2010, pictures inserted as links do not change to field code after Alt-F9, how do handle that? now I save it as word 2003 format.

And the replace code ^&, what is its meaning? I know ^c is the clipboard contents.

Your macro program attached to that post, I will strudy and have a try also. hope it will fit my environment after some change.
