Your embedded worksheet is actually a copy of the workbook, with all its sheets and about 30 separate links back to the original workbook, rather than a single linked object. Because of the nature of the links, they will only work if the relative path between the document and the source workbook remains unchanged. Saving the document to a different folder will break the links. You can re-establish the links by editing them (30 individual edits). The alternative is to create a single linked object, by copying the source range from Excel, then using Paste Special in Word, with the paste link option. Instead of putting the actual workbook into the document, it inserts a link to it and displays the link in the format of your choice. The link thus created retains its absolute path to the original workbook, though it can be changed (via a single edit).
