It will help if you descriube the way you found to invert the screen.
My guess is you used VIEW > BLACK&WHITE?? > INVERSE
If so this will only affect printing not the slide show.
If your slides follow the slide master then goto to VIEW >Slide master
On the large master set the text to white and the background to black should do it
