Various 3rd-party addins have been known to cause this behaviour. It's also possible CCleaner mucked up some settings. Have you tried repairing the Office installation (e.g. via Word Options|Resources|Diagnose)? If so, and it still doesn't work, what 3rd-party addins are running? Have you tried it with Word running in Safe Mode?
