Default Unformatted text paste macro

I use Word (2010, 2013) as my Outlook editor, messages set to HTML, but I can't seem to get some of my Word macros to work in messages, though many do. The one that I would most like to have, is simply my Word keyboard shortcut for pasting text unformatted. This is about as simple a macro as they get, I use this all the time, and in Word, the shortcut is just as fast as Ctrl+V.

I'm a novice, however, in macro land. Since Outlook has no macro recorder (this is not a recordable macro in Word anyway), I tried opening the macros (VBA editor, I assume), looked at the left hand column and opened down to Current Project. I could not find a way to inset a new module, as one does in Word, so I tried simply pasting the Word macro on the Project page and saved it. However, it doesn't run. Depending on which route I take to run it, either nothing happens or I get a pop-up saying macros in this project have been disabled.

I'd appreciate either direct help or an intelligible source (Microsoft's Help instructions are often in need of help themselves...) for finding out what I am doing wrong.

Thanks.
